Conservation-led replacement of historic timber and sash windows across more than 40 different designs, carefully phased around the school’s continued operation to minimise disruption and achieve challenging programme delivery targets.

What we did
- Specialist refurbishment and conservation of existing historic timber windows
- Manufacture and installation over 150 new bespoke timber and sash windows across 44 different window types, ranging from elliptical portholes and traditional casements to large-format units measuring up to 3.2m x 1.4m
- Refurbished and replacement windows upgraded with high-performance FINEO® vacuum glazing
- Delivered window security enhancements alongside improvements to acoustic performance, draught proofing and overall occupant comfort
- Undertook a comprehensive site survey to inform the design, manufacture and installation strategy for the varied window types and configurations across the school
- Completed specialist investigations, including timber condition surveys, window assessments, damp investigations, materials testing and glass analysis
- Carefully planned and phased the works around the continued operation of the school, ultimately handing the project over nine weeks ahead of schedule
